Georgia Department of Community Affairs Commissioner, Christopher Nunn, recently issued an order allowing local governments with June 30, 2021 planning deadlines to seek a deadline variance. To request a variance to extend this deadline to October 31, 2021, the local government must submit a variance request, signed by the chief local elected official or city/county manager, to planning@dca.ga.gov or by mailing a hard copy to DCA. Variance requests should be submitted by June 1st, 2021.
