It delivers federal and state programs and technical assistance on a regional and local level. It also functions as support staff to its member cities and counties.

    Are there other Regional Commissions?

There are eleven other RCs in Georgia and similar “Regional Planning Organizations (RPOs)” and/or “Councils of Governments (CoGs)” across the United States. For more information, visit these websites: Georgia Association of Regional Commissions, NARC, and New Georgia Encyclopedia.

    Who runs the NEGRC?

The NEGRC’s Executive Director oversees the organization’s staff and day-to-day operations. The NEGRC’s Council establishes policy and direction for the agency, as stipulated by state law (O.C.G.A § 50-8-30).
