The PGS Division provides transportation planning services directly to local governments and in contract with the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT), which funds most of our related services through annual contracts and grants.
As a leader in the state, the NEGRC offers a robust “bike/ped” planning program.
We prepare community-wide and special-area plans, policies, and guidelines for complete streets, trails, and Safe Routes To Schools. We also provide planning services for the Firefly Trail and other trails like it around the region.
To request assistance and/or additional information, contact Mark Beatty, mbeatty@negrc.org.
Throughout the region, stakeholders identify public transit as a key component of Northeast Georgia’s future.
PGS staff, alongside our partners at GDOT, can assist your community with envisioning, creating, and administering a rural transit system that allows people to access work, school, healthcare, commerce, and recreation.
