The Georgia Department of Transportation is currently updating the Georgia State Rail Plan. Georgia’s rail system is a vital component of Georgia’s thriving economy by safely connecting industries, ports, and people. The Plan includes a description of the state’s existing freight and passenger rail network, rail’s transportation, and economic benefits and needs, and a program of needed investments for the rail system through 2050.
These workshops will be held in three locations throughout the state to collect your input on the Plan’s goals and objectives, needs and opportunities, and funding priorities for freight and passenger rail. You may select one or more meetings to participate in depending on your location and interest. Please RSVP for the meetings you would like to attend by emailing: Ashley Finch at AFinch@dot.ga.gov by January 14, 2019.
