    Broadband & Wireless

Broadband is critical for economic development and quality of life. As such, it is a top priority in Northeast Georgia and throughout the state.

    Available Programs & Resources

The State of Georgia’s Department of Community Affairs (DCA) developed the Achieving Connectivity Everywhere (ACE) program to bridge the digital gap between rural and urban communities. The program requires that local governments include a broadband element in their comprehensive plan and establishes a grant program to assist rural and under-served communities in addressing their broadband needs. Communities interested in applying for an ACE grant or seeking assistance with incorporating a broadband element into a local, comprehensive plan may contact the PGS Division.

    Digital Economy Plan

The NEGRC, in partnership with the Georgia Technology Authority (GTA), developed the Regional Digital Economy Plan to facilitate the deployment of broadband through an examination of the region’s ability to participate in a digital economy. The Digital Economy Plan also identifies important resources, organizations, leaders, programs, and investments that can be leveraged in the future.
