Happy Retirement to Mary Brown, Greene County Senior Center Director
Mary Brown will retire from Greene County Senior Center on Friday, March 13, 2020. Mary began working at Greene County Senior Center on October 31, 2005.
During Mary’s tenure, the attendance at the center increased from average of 20 clients a day to an average of 35 clients a day. Mary worked closely with the Advisory Council and the Site Council along with the Area Agency on Aging and Greene County Commissioners to improve the daily operation of the center while staying within the allotted budget.
Over the years the center has been able to purchase 2 new vans; one in May of 2006 and another one in March 2020.
Mary’s team consists of 2 full time and 2 part-time employees and approximately 60 Meals on Wheels Volunteers.
Mary describes her time at the center as being challenging at times but overall rewarding serving the Elderly of Greene County.
Mary’s retirement plans include spending time with her children and grandchildren and to complete her “To-Do List” of projects around her home. Mary also plans to travel to visit friends.
Mary’s hobbies include reading, floral arrangements, cooking, gardening, shopping, and completing various activities with her grandchildren.
