WorkSource Northeast Georgia serves the following 12 counties: Barrow, Clarke, Elbert, Greene, Jackson, Jasper, Madison, Morgan, Newton, Oconee, Oglethorpe and Walton.
Understanding Eligibility
Please review the following standards to see if you may be eligible for workforce development training assistance.
Adult & Dislocated Worker
You may be eligible if you are 18+ years of age and ALL of the following:
- Unemployed OR meet income requirements
- Registered with Selective Services if male
- Residing in our 12-county region
- Have not received Bachelor’s degree in recent years
Youth & Young Adult
16-24 years of age and at least ONE of the following:
- Low-income
- Pregnant or Parenting
- Homeless
- Disabled
- Ex-offender
- Live in high-poverty area (i.e. Clarke County)
- Foster Child
- High School Dropout
High School Program (age 14-21):
Youth must be determined income-eligible and have at least one of six barriers to employment as defined by WIOA.
Special Populations
16-24 years of age and at least ONE of the following:
ACTION, Inc.:
You may be eligible if you are at least ONE of the following:
- Offender
- SNAP recipient
- Older worker (55+)
- Veteran
- Experiencing substance abuse
Athens Technical College:
- Offender
- SNAP recipient
- Older worker (55+)
- Veteran
- Experiencing substance abuse
Bread for Life:
- Offender
- SNAP recipient
- Single parent
- Survivor of domestic violence
- Experiencing substance abuse
