Adult & Dislocated Worker
Tuition Assistance
The Adult & Dislocated Worker program provides tuition assistance to those interested in furthering their education, and thereby gaining the knowledge and skills necessary for better employment. Those eligible for the program may receive financial assistance to attend post-secondary education at a program on our Eligible Provider List. The program assists with the cost of tuition, books, fees, tools, supplies, etc. Participants can receive up to $4,500 in assistance during their first year of study, and up to an additional $3,000 for their second year of study if applicable.
In addition, some participants receive travel assistance ($15/day) and childcare assistance ($12-20/day). Our support staff are available to help you get back to school and stay in school. Income and other eligibility criteria apply.
Trainings available for high-demand careers in HVAC, CDL, Nursing, Industrial Mechanics, Welding, and several others.
Youth & Young Adult (Ages 14-24 )
Tuition Assistance (Age 18-24)
This program provides tuition assistance to those interested in furthering their education, and thereby gaining the knowledge and skills necessary for better employment. Those eligible for the program may receive financial assistance to attend post-secondary education at a program on our Eligible Provider List.
The program assists with the cost of tuition, books, fees, tools, supplies, etc. Participants can receive up to $4,500 in assistance during their first year of study, and up to an additional $3,000 for their second year of study if applicable.
In addition, some participants receive travel assistance ($10/day) and childcare assistance ($8-15/day). Some participants are also able to have paid internships. Our support staff are available to help you get back to school and stay in school. Income and other eligibility criteria apply.
GED & Skills Training (Ages 16-24)
ACTION, Inc.’s Accelerated Opportunities Program:
Students can both obtain their GED at Lanier Technical College, and earn an Occupational Skills Certificate. Training includes Welding, CNA, and more.
Paxen Learning Corp (Ages 18-24):
Paxen offers GED instruction, work experience opportunities, job readiness training, and industry-recognized certifications.
High School Program (14-21)
ACTION, Inc. runs this program to help high schoolers graduate and prepare for the workforce. Services may include summer job opportunities, tutoring, mentoring, tracking of attendance and grades, leadership development, career exploration, and job readiness training.
Special Populations
WorkSource NEGA works with multiple providers in the area to offer programs that prioritize the needs of special populations, i.e. those who are most in need. These include persons who are homeless, TANF recipients, pregnant and parenting youth, persons who are long-term unemployed and several others. Please contact our office to learn more.
Tuition Assistance
12Services for individuals in this program are provided by ACTION, Inc. The Special Populations program concentrates on individuals in at least one of the following categories: offender, SNAP recipient, older worker (55+), veteran, individual experiencing substance abuse, single parent, and survivor of domestic violence.
