The laptops will be given to older adults through a campaign beginning 8AM on February 3, 2020.<\/p>\n<p>The giveaway will provide 20 new laptops for individuals age 65 and older who live in ACCA\u2019s service area. Applicants must have internet service, the ability to obtain internet service, or access to a public internet source. Applications will be available on ACCA\u2019s website, in person at ACCA or by request of mail. <strong>To request an application by mail, please call (706) 549-4850. Completed applications must be received by 4PM on February 28, 2020, to qualify. Winners will be notified no later than 4PM on March 27, 2020.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cSpectrum Internet Assist helps bring a whole new world of digital access and opportunity to low-income families and seniors,\u201d said Catherine Fleming, Charter\u2019s director of government affairs in Georgia. \u201cSpectrum Internet Assist is an important next step in providing true high-speed connections to consumers who would otherwise continue to face a digital inequality in this country. It\u2019s crucial for broadband providers like us to play a role in bridging the digital divide so that everyone has access to the information and tools they need to succeed in today\u2019s economy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are thrilled to receive this wonderful donation from Charter Spectrum and to be able to share these laptops with older adults in our community. There are many seniors who do not have access to a computer and internet services.\u00a0 This limits their ability to interact with others, research valuable resources available on-line and access services such as grocery and pharmacy delivery.
